Good Trouble Lives On National Day of Action
Today, more than 1,600 events honoring the legacy of late Civil Rights leader and former Congressman John Lewis will take place across the country as part of the Good Trouble Lives On National Day of Action. This is the fifth annual John Lewis National Day of Action, which has taken place on July 17th each year since John Lewis passed in 2020.

As of Wednesday, more than 400 events across the United States (and counting) are already scheduled to engage in “Good Trouble Lives On;” John Lewis National Day of Action on July 17. The announcement comes, as 12 years ago today, the Supreme Court struck down key provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (VRA) in the case of Shelby County v. Holder.

On July 17, five years since the passing of civil rights hero Congressman John Lewis, communities nationwide are mobilizing for Good Trouble Lives On, a national day of action to speak out against the Trump administration’s brazen rollback of our civil rights.
